We are weeks away from the New Year! Can you believe it? I can’t.
I’ve been sitting here reflecting on my intentions for this year, considering those that I accomplished and noticing those I did not. Sometimes, I get to the end of the year and every thing I set out to do has been accomplished and sometimes… well, NOT. I’m working on not judging it, but noticing it and learning from it.
At the beginning of this year, I set intentions to:
⭐️ Focus on my health and heal from this now over 3 year long sinusitis triggering migraines that last for days. (I think I might have figured it out, but I’ll save that news for when I’m sure and I’ll post that in another article alter, I promise!) 🌟
⭐️ Focus on being present with my family and this current transition we are in with the front end of my husband’s construction business. = better balance ⭐️
⭐️ Be a voice for the voiceless ⭐️
⭐️ Monetize my blog ⭐️
⭐️ Complete my Daily Divine Self Care book ⭐️
As I reflect on these things, I can celebrate many accomplishments such as:
🙌 I commited to and succeeded in bringing back a strong exercise regimen.
🙌 I brought my diet back into balance by cooking more at home and being more mindful of what I chose when we ate out.
🙌 I examined and cleaned up my routines, honoring what works for me more often.
🙌 I drank more water.
🙌 I succeeded in working with my husband to have a much better work/life/hobby/selfcare balance. We feel more solid and clear than we have in a long time.
🙌 I did monetize my blog and now offer paid advertising, created affiliations, and write sponsored posts.
🙌 I did raise funds and awareness for many local and national causes that help animals and children. I also commited to donate a % from every sale I make through MomPositive, LLC to an animal cause I love, near and far.
Not everything has gone perfectly. I am still working on healing my sinuses, and trying to figure out what’s happening with my health. I keep tightening up the gaps though, and I’m seeing results in return, which feels good. Also, I did not work on my book at all. The entire year! My Gemini mind pulled me away to follow other glitter.
This time of year, every year, I take a look back and sit with how the year went. I review my planner, check my vision board, review my journal, and get really clear on where I am in the moment. Right now – where am I? Where do I want to go next? Am I on target to reach my bigger life goals and am I living on Purpose?
Then, I find my new planner and dig in.
I have been a planner girl for years. (Since corporate, honestly) I love looking through the various designs and layouts. I always choose a weekly and monthly planner, like one of these Mom Planners, that have plenty of space to write my intentions for the week, commitments, client appointments, my son’s tkd, even my meal ideas. My planner is my space to lay down the yellow bricks for the journey I am on. When I choose a planner, I check for a few things: a beautiful cover, open space for me to jot down my thoughts and ideas, a well laid out monthly calendar that I can write clearly all my commitments each day and view it as a whole. (I do this so I can see blank space where I can see the balance I am always working toward.) My planner should also have, weekly layouts where I can focus on what’s in front of me directly. This is where I’ll layout my meal plan and random thoughts.
My planner works like an ever evolving vision board for me. I find a place in it to write out what my intentions for the year are. Sometimes this is a list, sometimes it’s a word that I’d like to focus on, but I know that I will be more likely to accomplish what I want if I’m continually reminded of it. In my planner, I track progress in all areas of my life that are most important to me. I write down fun things we do, from trips to hikes, to getting a new dog. I keep my planners so that I can reflect on them when I scrapbook, allowing me to more clearly recall events that are most important to me.
Did I say, I love my planners?
