On taking on extreme self-care.
Nature always brings us what we need, and more often than not, we will find what we need in nature… if we just look! Feeling DIVINE and taking EXTREME care of yourself is no exception.
I turned 45 on the Solstice.
My birthday always brings me to reflection and considering my next steps. This year, instead of taking on another layer of the world, I’ve decided it’s my year to pull back from pushing outward and upward. I’ve realized that this must be my year for me.
The past many years, I’ve challenged myself to expand in so many ways. I’ve written and published books, grown my business, been asked to and presented with a wide variety of media outlets, created and launched a retail product (Was not on my to do list, really), been certified in all sorts of goodness, and continued to work with The Institute for Integrative Nutrition. It’s all become a part of me, a part of my daily work and I love it. I have suffered the consequences of caring for so many while juggling my life and I am not where I want to be in my own body. So that said, I am pulling back my energy and placing much more energy into taking extreme care of me this year.
If you’ve been following my blog, you know then that my family and I are about to embark on a life changing journey as well, as we sell the home we are in and enter tiny house living (castle camper is what I’m calling it) while my husband builds his business as a custom home builder. This also happens to be at the same time I’ve decided I need to step up my personal care regimen. (I’m all about great timing…) So, this will be interesting!
I want to invite you to join me. I’ve created a free group on my Author Facebook page where you can come join in my Daily Divine Self-care tips and tidbits to help you to take on extreme selfcare. You can find this group HERE. Please invite your loved ones, friends, and family. My goal with this group is to spread the health and you can help me do that!
Today, I am leaning in with a lovely recipe for you to take a few minutes out to care for your skin with my Honey Facial Mask. The mask I’ve blended today contains nature’s ingredients for healthy, supple, glowing skin.
Raw honey is loaded with enzymes, is anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial. It will reduce the appearance of scars and support tissue regeneration.
Plain Yogurt contains lactic acid and will help to dissolve dead skin cells, tighten pores, and offers an anti-aging effect.
Roman Chamomile is great support for acne, allergies, boils, burns, dermatitis, eczema, inflammation, insect bites, rashes, sensitive skin, and small wounds. This herb is anti-inflammatory and often used in skin care blends. Chamomile is also known for it’s calming properties.
1 Tablespoon Raw Manuka or Raw Local Honey.
2 Tablespoons Plain Yogurt
2 -4 drops of Chamomile Essential Oil (Optional, click link to purchase)
Mix all ingredients together with a spoon and apply liberally to fresh, clean skin. Massage mask onto your face and neck. Leave on for five to ten minutes and remove with a warm wash cloth.
If you try my facial, I’d love to hear how it was for you!
